Lewes Three Peaks - Mount Caburn, Firle Beacon and Kingston Ridge (Around 18 miles)

Over 18 miles and in excess of 2600ft of elevation covered on this looped trail in Lewes, East Sussex, England. We start and finish this route in the heart of Lewes, I'll probably grab a coffee and cake afterwards.

This is a public and well known route, it is an event and not a race, therefore the intent is to run as a group, support each other and enjoy the day. This is perfect for building up towards a marathon trail distance. There is a mixture of terrain, minimal time is spent on pavements and mostly we will be on the trails.

A good level of fitness is required, remember snacks, water and a good attitude. We will run even if the weather is poor so come prepared. If you have sticks there is an opportunity to try them out.

Cuckmere Haven

Cuckmere Haven - A little more than 14.5 miles (Route courtesy of www.wildrunning.co.uk)

This is a spectacular run that takes you across the springy grass above the iconic white chalk cliff tops with their precipitous drop into the sea below. It follows winding trails through the lush woodland at Friston Forest; the Seven Sisters Country park; along the banks of the meandering Cuckmere River and down onto the shingle beach at Cuckmere Haven.

There's an enjoyable stretch of the 100-mile South Downs Way. This is a great route at any time of year, from summer when the 500 acres of open chalk grassland the area are rich with butterflies and downland flowers to winter when the waves crash on the rocks below.

Keep an eye out for nearby sites of archaeological interest, like Belle Tout Neolithic enclosure.

Devil's Dyke

Devil's Dyke 18 Miles of Ups & Downs

The artist John Constable declared this spot ‘the grandest view in the world’. Vast views over the Sussex Weald ensure Devil’s Dyke is a popular place to walk, rest and play.

This is also a fantastic place for us trail runners to get together as a group and enjoy the finest parts that Sussex has to offer.

18 miles plus change of glorious and beautiful trails to enjoy. This run has its fair share of ups and downs and is ideal for marathon training, mileage building towards ultra distances or simply a fantastic run in its own right.

This is not a race, the aim of this event is to run together, encourage each other and enjoy the day.
